Weather forecasting has always been challenging by the limitations in computing power and speed. GPU-accelerated supercomputer for weather forecasting is developing rapidly in recent years and MassGrid will optimize meteorological simulation algorithms by reducing it’s data dependencies and increasing its parallelism. Making it easier for distributed computing, which could dramatically increase the grid resolution from industry standard 1.0km to 300m.
